This picture shows the spanish Luthier neck joint. In this way the wood grain is at the same angle as the headstock, thus making it stronger. An 11 degree headstock angle is used. Getting everything lined up can be a little bit tricky ! |

Here is how the bodies are cut out. After the body blanks are laminated together they are rough cut on a bandsaw. Then using a router, guided by hand, (seen in lower left hand corner) an approximate shape of the guitar body is shaped. As you can see the cuts are extremely rough ! |

Here is the hard part....the Finish Work. Hours and hours are spend finish sanding the block of wood into the final shape. All the curves and contours must be painstakingly carved in by hand. Pickup cavities and neck pockets will be added at this time. |
