Carved top #14 $679.00 Plus shipping

LOOK CLOSE AT THE PICS, I actually CARVED the FLAMES into the wood. There's no comparison whatsoever to one of my painted bodies. This is a whole new level !!!
It took almost 2 days of meticulous carving and sanding to make and sculpture the flames into the body but boy was it worth it !!! Once I am finished making the body then I applied my Custom "Hot Rod Flame" Sparkle Finish, my most popular color and design. This is only my 14th carved top in 2-1/2 years so it is definately one of my more rare creations.
These candy metalflake colors really come alive under the lights! This paint looks a mile deep with it's multiple coats of clear Poly topcoat and transparent candy apple colors and really sparkles! It is color sanded flat and polished to an ultra high gloss that is mirror smooth and looks like polished glass. Pictures can only show you so much, it's so much more alive in person. Because of it's brilliance Metalflake is very hard to photograph. Please excuse the flash any subtle distortions in the pictures- these are just reflections. Neck and hardware in photo's are not included. This paint job is like the most custom chopper you have ever seen and is guaranteed to turn heads.
This Alder body is patterned from a vintage '69. The neck pocket is a standard 2-3/16 wide at the base so Tele replacement type necks and standard necks that are 2-3/16"at the heel should work fine. All routes, bridge and wiring holes are drilled. Buyer must drill holes for control plate (and clear pickguard if you decide to use one). String ferrule holes are 5/16". Weight is 4-1/2 pounds. This BODY is MADE IN THE USA by ME and painted in the USA by Me.
It is very time consuming to
make and paint a body like this. The paint starts with a silver
base coat followed with multiple layers of hi sparkle metalflake
over the entire body. After several coats are applied then a thick
clear coat is applied over the flakes because alot will be sanded
off to get it perfectly flat. After sanding the clear coat flat,
the The flames are laid out, masked off and airbrushed in various
candy apple colors. Once the design is set, it is painted by a
clear coat and will sit several days. Once cured it is completely
sanded and then given the final Polyester clear coat. Once it
has cured it is completely sanded flat starting with a 600 grit
wet sandpaper and and then progressively sanded with finer grits
until I finally reach the stage of a 2500 grit wet sanding. After
this it goes through several stages of polishing until it looks
a mile deep and shines like polished glass.
