Here is a guitar body many folks would love to own. A brilliant gold metalflake body that allows you to run 1 to 3 pickups. You can run 3 singles or single and a Humbucker in the neck position just by changing the pickguard. The bridge pickup must be a single coil size. This gold paint looks a mile deep with it's multiple coats of clear Poly topcoat and transparent candy gold color and it really sparkles! It is polished to an ultra high gloss that is mirror smooth and looks like polished glass. Pictures cannot do this paint job justice. Because of it's brilliance Metalflake is very hard to photograph. Please excuse the flash reflections in the pictures- these are just reflections.

This is a NEW custom painted Alder body patterned from a vintage '69. The neck pocket is a standard 2-3/16 wide at the base so Tele replacement type necks and standard necks that are 2-3/16"at the heel should work fine. All routes, bridge and wiring holes are drilled. Buyer must drill holes for control plate and pickguard. Pickups must be suspended from the pickguard. String ferrule holes are 5/16". Weight is 4.4 lbs.

This BODY is MADE IN THE USA by ME and painted in the USA by Me. ( Sorry I keep repeating myself but people continue to ask me where I get the bodies ... I MAKE THEM ! ).

It is very time consuming to make and paint a body like this. There are nearly 20 hours making the body and painting it. Once I finished making the body I apply a sealer coat which is sanded once dry. Then I start with a silver base followed with metalflake over the body. Usually it takes 4 or more coats of metalflake to achieve the flake density I am looking for. Each coat has to dry a bit before additional coats are applied. and finally several thick coats of clear is painted over the top because alot will be sanded off to get it perfectly flat. After sanding the clear coat flat, several coats of candy gold is applied followed by a clear coat. after the intermediate clear coat has dried for several days. Once cured it is completely sanded and then given the final Polyester clear coat. Once it has cured it is completely sanded flat starting with a 600 grit wet sandpaper and and then progressively sanded with finer grits until I finally reace the stage of a 2500 grit wet sanding. After this it goes through several stages of polishing until it looks a mile deep and shines like polished glass.

In the last few years I have sold nearly 200 metalflake paint jobs and custom painted metalflake bodies on ebay (see my feedback) and every buyer has been very impressed with the product. Only top custom painters are capable of a paint job like this, so expect to pay big bucks where ever you go. A complete "Custom Shop" guitar with a finish like this can bring $3000.00 or more. You could save THOUSANDS by starting with this body and then adding your neck and hardware.
